Good Morning America!

These thoughts are from an average person, not a paid professional writer, or a computer geek purist, just thoughts from a common everyday folk perspective.

Rabid Rabbits!

Rabid Rabbits are responsible for killing snakes in a man's yard in Cairns.

We think of rabbits as soft, cuddly and timid little fellas, but these two bugs-bunnies have shot that stereotype in the foot.
They're putting an end to any snake they come across. Snakes, snakes of all things.

How's that for some weird and funny news.

Banning Books: Nazism in The New Millennium

Book banning! Are these people serious! The arrogance of the human condition never ceases to amaze me.

If the content of any document or publication or book, insults the moral sensibilities of a person or group then, don't read them. It's not rocket science or do they want to ban that too.

This movement of banning books reeks sulfur akin to Hitler's book bonfires and is quite nauseating.

This is the new Millennium, an era where progress is "King" and "Queen" yet, there's a group of throw-backs who want to limit the right to freedom of the press and free speech.

Personally, I may not like what someone says or writes however, I will defend their right to say it.

I found a post about Book Banning on Certifiably Random blog and became outraged.

Google Books is joining with Libraries and Bookstores to expand the universe of books people can discover.

Some of the books that are being challenged or banned just blew me away: George Orwell's 1984, Toni Morrison's Beloved, John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath and more.

American Library Association is winding down their celebration to read event ending October 3.

Don't let this event stop there. Stand up and be heard.

Stop the "knuckle-dragging-throw-backs" from regressing society back to blatant tyranny and totalitarianism.

Using Face Book and Twitter

For me, I like to advertise my blogs on both Face Book and Twitter. I have what is known as a severe case of Bloggorhea [a word I picked up off the television]

I like the word logorrhea which I do have a severe case of too -- so, why not play a bit of Scrabble with it and come up with a new word. Both words describe excessive use of rambling on -- right!

Now the Internet rage is FaceBook and Twitter. Believe it or not there are still people out there who haven't a clue what either of them are.

I mentioned tweeting something to someone to a friend of mine and they had no clue as to what on earth I was talking about.

Twitter has become so big that you will see twitter advertisements on the television.

Your local News Stations tell their viewers "Follow us on Twitter"

Celebrities are using Twitter in droves.

Watching "The View" a couple of months back, the ladies were making a big to-do about how Barbara Walters was now on Twitter.

Celebs from Shaq to Venus and Serena Williams to Paris Hilton, too... use Twitter. In fact the Williams sisters consistent users of Twitter. So consistent that Serena twits about every move she makes.

Right after her oopsey at the U.S Open, Serena tweeted her apologies to all her fans following her on Twitter. Then she went on to twit about her book signings and about her and Venus' night at the Dolphins game.

I really wanted to send her a message but as you can guess, there was no way I could find to send her one. I guess she has that blocked -- rightfully so, she's got quite a few followers, can you imagine all the messages she would get.

Sports teams, Authors, News, Celebs and Television shows are beating down the doors on FaceBook too.

This makes me wonder if President Obama is right -- are newspapers in trouble? Everyone seems to be flocking to social networking and the internet for their information. Should there be a bill to BAIL-OUT THE PRESS

FaceBook uses:

People use FaceBook for various reason. The average person uses it to stay in contact with friends and family. They post pictures, send messages and use it for community services. Many find friends from long ago to play catch up.

Businesses use it for their employees, or to advertise their business and plan meetings. Authors, writers use it to Network and sell their books etc...

Twitter uses

Tweeting a blog or web site you're reading at the time. I have found that some people use it like a personal diary and tweet insignificant information but, to each his own. I've done that myself.

Personally, I like the micro blogging of twitter. There's not a bunch of applications suddenly showing up on your page. Everything tweeted is short, sweet and, too the point.

If people want to click on the url you've tweeted they can.

FaceBook has bugs. Sometimes you can't see pictures or you can't click on an application or you can't log in, the drama goes on and on...

Yet, FB is still growing. There's even been talk about paying for it -- that I won't do.

So, what do you use FB or Twitter for?

I wonder does anyone else think that social networking is making society socially bankrupt? Has anyone done a study on that?

Show me the numbers.

Not Natural Enemies Here!

Seems that the heartwarming news is usually about animals or babies or both.

This news from the Animal Planet made me gush and smile.

Fawn and Bob Cat Kitten Bond

So, the  coined phrase "natural born enemies"  is quite the misnomer in this case.

Animals in the News:

Di Sieno helped rescue the bobcat kitten in the photo a week before, near Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Ranch, where it was dehydrated and near death. Di Sieno nurtured it back to health. They rescued the fawn during last week's wildfire. Although wild animals, especially of separate species, are never placed together due to regulations, in this emergency situation, they had no choice. During the mayhem of the fire, they were forced to put animals anywhere they could, since they had run out of crates large enough for the fawn. The kitten ran to the fawn, and it was instant bonding.

A Beauty of a Miracle

Before
It's amazing how advanced modern medicine is. There are heart transplants, kidney transplants, liver transplants and now a face transplant.

This may be old news but non the less, it's still amazing. This woman, Connie Culp has a bran, spank'in new face. What a lovely face she has too.

A midst her tragedy something good came out of it. Her husband the nut job who got off with only 7 years for his attempted murder and suicide. Which, in my not so humble opinion, seems like a slap in her lovely new face [pardon the pun] But now, Connie is gorgeous.
When her husband shot her five years ago, Connie Culp was left without a nose, a palate or lower eyelids, but now she has revealed her new face.
I know the emotional pain of what she went through will take years to heal. Now she has something to feel good about herself.

It's amazing what the Doctors at Cleveland clinic did for her this past year. It makes me proud Cleveland is known for something this world class.
The 46-year-old mother of two underwent a procedure last December that lasted 22 hours at the Cleveland Clinic in the state of Ohio.

Surgeons transplanted about 80% of Culp's face using facial tissue from a dead woman that was placed like a mask atop her own. Almost her entire face was replaced, except for the forehead, upper eyelids, lower lip and chin. READ MORE====>
I'm truly happy for this woman and pray life gives her much more to smile about and wish for the ugliness of her past to leave her in peace.

Excellent work you Doctors up at Cleveland Clinic, just excellent.
